BH Cosmetics Haul

I am super excited to announce that I finally got around to ordering from BH Cosmetics. I have always been hesitant about ordering cosmetics online but I was pleasantly surprised and glad that I did! I was really impressed that my order only took 3 business days to get here and it all arrived in perfect condition.

As a lot of people, there are a ton of mixed reviews regarding BH Cosmetics but I am thoroughly impressed with how fantastic these products are. I am so excited to finally have these babies in my hands so I can test them all out!

elf - warm golden bronzer!

As some of you may know I am completely addicted to ELF's line of products. Not only are the extremely inexpensive but amazing quality too. Recently I picked up a 'new' ELF Studio Line bronzer in the shade warm golden.

On ELF's website it's said that these bronzers "Create a healthy looking glow all year round! The sheer soft powders provide the perfect hue of color. Blend all 4 colors together to achieve a blend of perfection or choose your favorite color or colors to mix, match and blend."

As I just said I purchased the shade warm golden and it's a fantastic bronzey illuminating shimmer which creates a perfect subtle glow on the cheek bones or all over!

FORMULA

I find that almost all of ELF's powder products are silky smooth and glide on ever so smoothly. The odd one does seem to have an awful lot of fallout but for only $3.00 who cares, right?! I find that if I use this bronzer in the morning it could last a good 6 hours before a touch-up. Overall, you can't go wrong with a product that's only three dollars and it's incredibly smooth, blendable and very pigmented!

COLOR & PIGMENTATION

These four colors combined are nicely pigmented and would look beautiful on any skin tone because of its nude color hue. Overall the shadows are very true to color and blend beautifully on the skin. Applied sparingly creates a subtle healthy glow, whilst applied heavier creates a great contour! One thing I loved was the fact there was no orange hue within the different shades.

OVERALL

Overall I really love the color pay off and the colors do look well on my skin - but to be honest I would not call this a 'bronzer'. It is finely milled including some light shimmer which would look best as a highlight (which is what I use it for). I definitely would repurchase this product purely because I love the color range and it's pigmentation. Definitely recommending to friends!

RATING: 8/10

new elf blush - mellow mauve

So, as we all know ELF has been a very popular makeup brand because of it's inexpensive, wide variety of great makeup! Recently I went to Target and picked up another of ELF's Studio Line blushes in Mellow Mauve. As many of you may know you can purchase these on ELF's website for only $3.00!

One thing that I absolutely love about these blushes are the sleek, black packaging. ELF's Studio Line has a total of 11 (eleven) blushes: Peachy Keen, Tickled Pink, Candid Coral, Mellow Mauve, Berry Merry, Blushing Rose, Pink Passion, Fuchsia Fusion, Gotta Glow, Giddy Gold and Twinkle Pink.

Formula

I definitely do love the formula of these blushes, they are super soft and blend extremely well over foundation. Sometimes it can become a little too powdery but that's nothing I can't handle. I find if I set my foundation with a powder, this blush will last all day without touch-ups (6-9 hours)! Overall they are super pigmented blushes, long-wearing, and affordable!

Color & Pigmentation

These blushes are very pigmented! Always apply lightly as you can always add more. "Mellow Mauve" doesn't really do this blush justice as I found it was particularly mauve at all. It had a slight mauve undertone, but it was rather purple-peachy (as you can tell in the photos). One thing that really surprised me was the blue, yes blue micro-shimmer within the blush. It's absolutely gorgeous! If you apply sparingly the blue micro-shimmer won't be too flashy, but it definitely was the first thing I noticed once I applied.

Overall

This blush is a beautiful, peachy, summery blush that will look good with a combination of different outfits and neutral eye looks. I think the formula could use a little bit of tweaking, but it's nothing that scares me away from the product. I definitely wouldn't be using this as an everyday blush purely because of the blue micro-shimmer but it will be great for photo shoots or even days when I want my cheeks to pop. I would recommend this to anyone who is just starting out in the make-up world, or anyone who wants amazing, pigmented, inexpensive blushes. I will be repurchasing!
